DON’T WASTE YOUR LIFE!
John Piper writes:
I will tell you what a tragedy is. I will show you how to waste your life. Consider this story from the 1998 Readers Digest:
A couple took early retirement from their jobs in the Northeast 5 years ago when he was 59 and she was 51. Now they live in Punta Gorda, Florida. Where they cruise on their 30-foot trawler, play softball and collect shells.
Picture them before Christ at the great Day of Judgment: “Look, Lord. See my shells!”
That is a tragedy.

I remember hearing this in a soundclip a while ago.. Do you know which that might be pastor Steve?
God bless you brother. May God save us from wasting our lives, who really are His.

Amen! I don’t know the sound clip; I just got it from the book!

I second Steve’s commendation of that book–couldn’t stop laughing/crying for minutes after reading his bit about the shells. I’ve met quite a few people who were doing that, too….sigh.
