Preaching to the Hotdog Line
Just imagine that you are visiting L.A. from the Midwest, and on your tour of famous landmarks you end up in line at Pink’s World Famous Hotdogs. Now imagine some guy standing on a stool at the front of the line and warning of sin, Judgment Day and Hell, then giving the Good News of the Gospel. What would your reaction be?

This is one of the reasons why I asked Steve to serve as a Team Leader for the Ambassadors’ Academy. Well done, brother.
On another note: during this open-air session Steve gives a good example of an important open-air principle–one I try to teach those new to open-air preaching. Steve preached the Law loud. And he preached grace even louder. Some open-air preachers tend to lower their voices when they talk about grace, which is a good way to loose a crowd.
Crowds will often start to disperse at the first mention of Jesus Christ. Notice the posture of the crowd toward the end of Steve’s preaching. Many in the line turned their back to him. What else could they do. They weren’t about to get out of line and pass up a hot dog.

personally I would be cheering and saying “it’s about time”. Because the Word of God is boldly being proclaimed.

The look on the teenage girls’ faces as they listened intently spoke volumes of what I trust was going on inside their hearts via the power of God in the saving gospel message being powerfully preached. Amen!

Praise God. If you have never open-air’d, you are missing out on one of God’s really inspiring blessings. Inspiring for those who do not know the Lord, inspiring for those who are of the faith, and inspiring to your very soul. And as you learn to preach the law and grace: passing out tracts, one to one or open-air will get into your blood and it can’t come out. That is unless you stop. So, Let’s go over to the other side of the lake my brothers and sisters.
